We all learn from mistakes. Getting things wrong, and learning from failures, helps us grow our brains. Let's tackle the learning myth that mistakes are bad. Myth - Learning is all about remembering facts and answering questions correctly We need to make sure mistakes and failures are valued and we look at them in ways that can help us learn. Failure friendly classroom: - Students and teachers learn and talk about different types of mistakes Sloppy mistakes- when we know how to do something but were a bit careless and goofed it up Stretch mistakes- when we are trying something harder than what we are use to. These mistakes are great moments of brain growth Mysterious mistakes- when something interesting is happening or a misunderstanding that we need a teachers help with. It's so valuable to talk about these mistakes as a group. No matter the kind of mistake they help us grow our brain and learn.
