World-Ranked and All-American track athlete, Tina Klein has coached thousands of aspiring runners in-person. With the global pandemic, we wanted to create a vehicle to provide her coaching plans in a virtual format. We crafted an Alexa Skill to make her run training plans available as an in-skill purchase in Alexa. How the Alexa Skill works: Each day the runner will ask Alexa for the workout and a specific workout will be provided based on the runner's goal distance and goal date. For example, if a runner set a goal to run a 5K distance in 8 weeks, Alexa would provide a different workout each day ascending the runner toward their goal. Side note: Coach Tina Klein was a Captain in the US Army serving in Germany for 10 years. This Alexa Skill includes recordings of her voice in both English and German. Success: Runners from the US and Germany have now purchased her training plans via Alexa, creating a new revenue stream for her coaching business.
