Hey people! In this video, I’m going to be making a fountain pen made from my dads favorite tobacco cast in resin for father’s day. *WARNING VIDEO CONTAINS TOBACCO* It that turned out absolutely lovely but I should have worn a mask when turning and sanding as despite me joking in the video I really do think the tobacco got to me! I've since purchased this really awesome respirator and am very happy with it! https://amzn.to/2XEk2BT So my dad loved his present of course and I’m really happy about how it turned out. I could have perhaps done a better job with the casting as there too many bubbles but that’s something that will improve with practice. I used Aluminite and a small blowtorch to get rid of a few of the bubbles but this seemed to only get those around the surface and too much flame started to burn the resin. Since its flamable, I didn't want to go too far! I’m also considering buying a pressure pot as that can really help hide the bubbles but that’s an expensive piece of kit so will have to wait. I should also brush up on some resin tutorials. Pam Harris does a few good ones and I should watch those again.
