The Origins of the Maltipoo. A poodle and a Maltese once met to give birth to the Maltipoo. Take the intelligence and elegance of poodles, the tenderness and docility of the Maltese, and sprinkle it all with a unique, faithful, cute and dynamic character , add to it little shiny eyes: you will get the maltipoo. The maltipoo is indeed the adorable result of a marriage between the Maltese bichon and the poodle. The fusion that was operated between these two species gave birth to the small breed of dog called hybrid that is the maltipoo, which is very popular in the United States today . The adoption of the maltipoo as a pet has been popularized over the last century, becoming a phenomenon in many American families in the 1990s. Initially, the objective of this hybridization between the poodle and the Maltese was to obtain a dog with a so-called hypoallergenic coat, ie which would not cause allergies in people usually sensitive to animal allergies. Indeed, the Maltipoo was crossed between two dog breeds that share this characteristic. But it is rather the beautiful eyes of the maltipoo and its cute temperament that have made it so popular on the other side of the Pacific.
